Etropole is a town of centuries-old history, of exclusive contribution to the development of the Bulgarian letters and enlightenment, of heroic and freedom-loving citizens.
The Monastery of Etropole, the preserved houses from the Bulgarian National Revival, the Clock-tower - a symbol of the town, the historical places and monuments are a part of the objects, which Etropole is proud of.
The natural sights-beautiful beech forests, clear streams and the phenomenal travertine waterfalls are as well of great significance for the town.
The Etropole Mountain is situated between the passage of Botevgrad and the one of Zlatitza. Its highest peak is Govedarnika /1790 m/.
The most remarkable and natural phenomena are the travertine waterfalls “Varovitetz”, 10-12 m high, just next to the monastery of Etropole and “Vranata voda”, 30-40 m high, formed by the waters of a turbulent karts spring.
The favorable climatic conditions and nature are a good base for the development of the village and eco-tourism, of hunting and ski-tourism, of alpinism and speleology.
