and the most beautiful one among the 12 villages in the municipality
of Teteven. It is at the foot of the top Vejen. |
|
Ribaritsa is
12 km away from Teteven and 138 km - from Sofia. A picturesque
road directly connects it with Shipkovo and Troyan.
The resort is spread 12 km along
Vit river and not accidentally is called Ribaritsa. Its symbol
is a sculptural figure of a fisherboy, put on a rock to the
right of the road.
The clear and healthy mountain
air, the limpid rivers, full with Balkan trout, the delicate
scent of flowers and berries, the birds’ songs, the impressive
beech woods have attracted famous Bulgarian intellectuals since
the beginning of 20 century.
During the 50’s there are about 30 villas in Ribaritsa while nowadays they are about 450.
In 1963 Ribaritsa has been officially
proclaimed a mountainous resort and it keeps on giving welcome
to thousands of tourists from the country and abroad.
You can walk through Ribaritsa
by a touristic train, to rent bicycles by which to reach the
place of death of Georgi Benkovski, the Roman bridge, the old
small quarters Briazovo and Goruniovo. You can make a romantic
retro-walk by a cabriolet, photo-shooting with a wood-picnic,
a walk in the mountain with a well-trained guide, attractive
fishing with a fish-picnic.
Current information about Ribaritsa can be received
in the ecology information-educational centre “Ribaritsa” at
the building of the cultural club “Razvitie”. Here you can find
the National Park “Central Balkan” on a videofilm, advertising
matters and souvenirs, touristic maps and guide-books.
The centre
organises “A school in the wild nature” with interesting subjects
